General FAQs
Q. What should my child wear?
A. Your child may wear anything that is easy to move in. For boys, gym shorts and a t-shirt are best. For girls, shorts and a t-shirt are fine but, please remember, this is gymnastics and your child will be going upside down. Shirts tend to fall "up" which makes leotards the preferred gym wear for girls. All gymnasts should be in bare feet, long hair pulled back and jewelry removed (stud earrings are fine).
Q. How long are your sessions?
A. We run continuously year round so there is no maximum or minimum length of time to which you are committed. Tuition is due monthly, the last week of the month for the next month so we know who is returning. Your child may join a class at any time. No need to wait until a new month!
Q. How do I assess my child's progress?
A. Report cards are given out about 9 times a year. The skills that have been achieved are noted on that report by a star. Your gymnasts skills attained are also available on your parent portal. It is easy to see what your child needs to progress to the next level class on the report card or the portal. Recommended class for the following month is noted on the bottom of the report card.
Q. What if my child misses a class?
A. If your child misses a class you may schedule a make up class to come at an alternate time as long as your child is still enrolled in the program. All makeup classes must be scheduled in advance.
Q. What class best fits my child?
A. Our classes are divided by age and ability. If your child is a Beginner or has never done gymnastics before, choose the appropriate class by age. If your child has previous experience and you're still not sure, we can help assess your child for the perfect fit!
Q. Do I need to stay while my child is in class?
A. You do not need to stay while your child is in class. Please make sure your child knows that you are leaving. Use that time to run some errands or feel free to stay and watch in our lobby with large viewing area!
Q. What class should my cheerleader/dancer take?
A. Our TUMBLING classes are perfect for those that wish to advance their tumbling skills! These classes focus on floor skills only and do not spend time on the other events (bars, beam, vault, etc.).
